General Description
105-1 WNGA (FM) is a regional but locally-focused FM
radio station that broadcasts from White County in Northeast Georgia.
Known as "Georgia 105-1," WNGA provides service to a
total of fifteen Georgia counties and portions of two South Carolina
counties. Service areas include the counties of White, Habersham, Hall,
Dawson, Lumpkin, Stephens, Banks, Jackson, Forsyth, Franklin, Madison,
Clarke, Barrow and Gwinnett counties in Georgia. WNGA also reaches
Oconee and Anderson counties in South Carolina.
In addition to Mainstream and Classic Country music,
WNGA maintains a full-time local news department; hourly community
information features; listener interaction; and a staff involved in the
communities it serves. WNGA is Georgia 105-1!
Programming
105-1 WNGA’s format is first and foremost focused
entirely on the local area. The music is Country with a modern slant
during the day and a traditional slant during the evening and weekend.
From 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday-Saturday, WNGA airs music, concentrating
on big Country hits of the past couple of years. Country is also aired
on Sundays starting at noon. From 6 p.m. until 6 a.m., 105-1 WNGA is the only radio station in the area that airs Classic
Country music - major hits of the 1970s and 1980s, with selected hits of
the 1960s plus a few from the 1950s.
While this unique Country music mix is unlike any other
station in the area, it’s carefully researched to appeal to the largest
segment of population in the WNGA coverage area.
What really separates WNGA from other radio stations in
the area is the local news, sports, weather and community information.
Local news updates are heard throughout the broadcast day, complemented
by top-of-the-hour Associated Press Radio News.
An hourly Community Calendar feature updates local
listeners on events in the immediate area and a weekday community
affairs program airs at 8:15. 105-1 WNGA is the daily local information
source for the North Georgia area. The Daily Obituary is found on our
website and is on the air Monday-Friday at 7:18, 12:18 and 5:18.
Live broadcasts of White County High School football and
basketball games are featured on WNGA. The station also maintains a
direct connection to the National Weather Service, providing instant and
accurate weather information 24 hours daily. North Georgia depends on
WNGA – Georgia 105-1!

listener. Our professional, personable announcers are warm, friendly and
forward moving in their presentation. Listeners feel they are listening

Coverage Area
The 105-1 WNGA transmitter and high elevation tower are
located on Tray Mountain in White County. The site was chosen for its
clear line of sight coverage deep into Upstate South Carolina and across
Northeast Georgia.
The station’s 1,700-watt crystal-clear Class A FM stereo
signal operates at full power 24 hours daily. In addition to its focus
on Cleveland, Helen and White County, our primary signal coverage
reaches the Northeast Georgia areas of Clarkesville, Cornelia,
Gainesville, Oakwood, Demorest, Mount Airy, Dawsonville, Dahlonega,
Toccoa, Commerce, Jefferson, Homer, Clermont, and Lula - as well as
heavily visited Lake Hartwell and Lake Lanier. In neighboring South
Carolina, WNGA reaches the Anderson, Seneca, Walhalla and Clemson areas.

Approximately 221,000 people live in the huge Grade A
primary signal area of Georgia 105-1; we also serve the thousands of
people who pass through the signal along the Georgia 400; Interstate
985/Highway 365 corridors; and Interstate Highway 85, the main
transportation corridor between Atlanta, Georgia and Charlotte, North
Carolina. The dominant FM radio voice in this progressive area is WNGA –
